Walk & Talk Therapy
Join Dr. Horn for an outdoor walk during your therapy session. Walk and talk therapy has been shown to help the brain process difficult situations differently and can help with perspective changes. Inquire to see if walk and talk therapy is being offered in a location near you.
What to Expect
Desert to Peaks provides sessions that feel individualized, warm, collaborative, and active. You’ll always be met with empathy, authenticity, and respect. You will be supported in moving toward the life you want to build and the changes you want to make. You will also be introduced to action-oriented, evidence-based strategies and concrete steps you can take in your life outside the therapy room. You can expect your therapist to help you explore what patterns are working for you and what patterns are keeping you stuck, develop practical strategies for your everyday life, and build new patterns of thinking and acting that align with who you want to be and how you want to feel.

Walk & Talk session (60 minutes) - $250

Insurance
Desert to Peaks Psychology is in-network with most Aetna and United Healthcare plans.
For all other insurance providers, a Superbill will be provided in order to receive reimbursement from insurance and HSA plans. It is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
The benefits of seeing an out-of-network therapist
Openness to working with a therapist out of network will insulate you from the difficulties of having to find a new therapist if you switch jobs or your job switches insurance providers.
Out of network therapy can open the door for more personalized and holistic care. Therapists can offer longer or more frequent sessions than insurance might cover (e.g., 90 minutes, twice weekly). You can also explore more individualized and innovative modalities, such as outdoor or walk-and-talk therapy, or an in-home session focused on sleep hygiene or office layout.
Choosing to forego the use of insurance provides more privacy. Details about the frequency and duration of your care are yours alone!
